Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading in Canada

A greenhouse gas emission reduction trading pilot (GERT) was launched in 1998 by British Columbia Environment, and now has partners across Canada including the federal, provincial government, and local governments, six industry associations, and environmental groups. It is currently reviewing projects related to small hydro, fuel switching wind power, forest sequestration, landfill gas, and solar energy.
