Webinar: Addressing Environmental and Social Risks in Cocoa Supply Chains
Virtual
October 15, 2020 / 10:00 – 11:00 EDT
While the global demand for cocoa continues to grow, cocoa sourcing companies and their investors face increased exposure to risks associated with climate change, child labor and expansion of cocoa production into protected forest reserves. Investors and consumers are increasingly concerned about the wide environmental and social impacts of cocoa as a commodity. While this has prompted some companies to improve their public disclosure of these risks, more must be done to address these issues throughout the cocoa value chain.
In this session, participants will:
- Develop a better understanding of the cocoa supply chain and its key players
- Evaluate which risks to be aware of when engaging with companies who source cocoa
- Examine why and how companies are addressing environmental and social issues in their cocoa supply chain
- Explore key questions investors can bring into their engagements with companies
