“Deep resilience” as an approach for developing more lasting, systemic responses to climate change in the face of “deep uncertainty” goes beyond managing harms and risks to drive positive transformation and adaptation. We proposed this new way to respond to the urgency of climate action with the launch of Nature for Climate Action in 2021 at COP26 Glasgow.
Our upcoming Resilience Now! series will include practical guidance on:
- Indicators for evaluating the impact of interventions on the resilience of households, communities, and ecosystems;
- Operationalizing deep resilience and applying it to planning and decision-making under deep uncertainty; relevant existing tools and methodologies
- Incorporating a deep resilience approach into climate actions at all levels (e.g., NDCs, NAPs, regional and municipal climate plans); leveraging nature-based solutions to build deep resilience
We are actively seeking new cases and implementation partners!
